I was reading an interesting article on the new iPhone and how its signal is so screwed. To fix the problem (where the reception is bad if the phone is held in a certain way), apple has decided to recalculate the way signal strength is calculated. This implies to me that they have been getting away with false signal readings for years (on top of the current problem). Hard core apple fans are defending the fault, oblivious to the real world in their little bubble, deciding that they don't care if there is no signal, cause the phone has lots of other 'extras'. I would like to ask whats the point of a phone that can't make calls?
Anyway, back to the reason I made this post - because I found a nice little quote to sum up the iPhone.
"Incidentally, I have a mirror for sale that makes you more beautiful when you look into it.
However, it only works in the dark. Any takers?"
Read into that as you will, but I thinks it's quite a nice summation of recent apple products.
EDIT:
Found this and couldn't resist adding it. Bit of a discussion between two people.
"Pathologically insane fanboys will grab this crumb of comfort like the holy grail and defend the object of their adoration to the death and the general public will have a fuzzy idea that 'like, something was wrong but Apple are doing something'."
"Oh, dear , its the old Apple buyers are mindless sheep argument again? The typical Apple buyer is of above average IQ, has above average disposable income and demands high quality products and customer service. I assume you do not own an iPhone 4 and are merely joining the discussion because you don't like Apple on principle."
"Actually I typed that on my Macbook. That kind of blows your theory, doesn't it?
On the other hand the average fanboy is blind to objective criticism, lacks basic social skills and rashly jumps to conclusions so I wasn't really expecting anything better from you."
And finally:
"Phone, doesn't make calls, nice.
I'll buy an iPad also, so people can see I'm cool from further away."
For anyone that cares, the quotes of today were all made by people quoting on dot.Rory's article "Apple's embarrassing error", on the BBC news pages.

The blog section of the website is done! Well mostly, the front end and reading section has been completely finished now. All that is left (apart from minor tidying up) is to add a way to write the blog posts. I am currently writing this straight into the database - which is not an ideal solution

Well I've been slightly delayed getting this section to work, as I have been away in Newquay for the last week (or so I thought). The holiday home was nice place near St Merryn (20 miles away from Newquay), although I thought it was Newquay until we were nearly there - and I was driving. The weather was great, we spent everyday on the beach and even had a beach BBQ one evening. Anyway I hope this section will be back around soon and hopefully slightly working.

I've finished by template for the webiste - well parts of it. It seems that doing a fluid floating 3 column system is hard. Next on my list is this blog, although I'm not counting actual blogging as work.

Well, I suppose this is my first entry not that it is very interesting. I don't know why anyone would be reading this especially for a few now as currently it is just normal text on a white background. I could use wordpress or similar, but the whole point of me making a website is to learn the coding side more than anything else. I have decided to do most of it in php and javascript, as this allows me some flexability. I would ask for comments but currently you can't and looking around at the moment it's not on my priority list.
